May 2011 Newsletter

Thanks so much for your prayer and support without which this project would not have been possible.

Please read our daily log, as we go for one week of medical clinics in the Philippines!

On Monday, May 02, 2011, we met team at airport in Manila.
So far, our team has swelled to 50 members altogether, 9 members of DCC (Dalian City Church), 3 doctors (Dan Camm, dentist, and Kendall Suh, emergency room physician and Esther from Hong Kong), two dental assistants from Merci and the rest from Hope of Hong Kong church.

We flew to Ilo-Ilo had lunch and then went for a nearly three hour drive to Ma-Ayon in Capiz Province.
One of the policeman who received Christ last year in or December clinic has a brother who works with the mayor here and they have invited us to do the medical clinic. There is excitement in the air

We had an incredible day in Ma-Ayon as over 333 patients were seen and 376 came to Christ.
How did more people get saved than came to the clinic? 10 volunteers and 16 police were among those who received Christ.
Praise God!

Thursday, May 05, 2011, we travelled from Ma-Ayon in Capiz province to Ilo-ilo city and saw 565 patients with 520 coming to Christ. Vicky shared with several patients who were healed of partial blindness.
Vicky headed back to Dalian tonight or at least to Manila where she will fly to Dalian tomorrow.
Japhet and Alex, from Dalian City Church, who have been with us for three days departed today. We thank God as they are both Filipino nationals and were a great blessing in translating and sharing the gospel.
Gary and his two sons, Michel and Timothy will head back tomorrow!
Praise the Lord for the chance that Vicky, I and our two girls had to all minister together. We were surprised at how well Alithia did as this is her first mission trip. She was very responsible, taking medicine from the pharmacy and giving them to the people who distribute them to the patients.

On Saturday, May 7, 201, in the morning, we held different Bible study groups for the new believers and those who had come from our three centers in Manila, Capiz and Ilo.

In the afternoon from 3pm through about 6.30, we had worship revival concert.
There were about 200 people there and 69 more made professions to accept Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
We then split into small groups, so those who came to Christ would have a chance to hear a more thorough explanation of what their commitment means and have a chance to receive more prayer for various needs in their lives. We stayed praying with the groups for quite a while and many received prayer and divine healing.

On Sunday, May 8, 2011 we met in a hotel where we stayed last time. More than 130 people gathered.

Kimberly and Alithia helped lead Sunday school for more than one dozen children during the adults’ service.
13 people made professions of faith, bringing to a total of 1730 new believers in this week of outreach.

One of the best things about the Sunday service was that after from 1-3pm there were three Bible study groups and over 100 people stayed after the service to study on three topics. They could finish one and then go into another class, so many studied more than one class.
This shows the hunger of the people for the Word of God.

This week we had a total of 102 participants (16 from Philippines + 11 from Merci/DCC + 75 HK Hope)

For 40% of the participants it was their first mission trip.

We will return again in the last week of November or first week of December and do clinics, worship, Bible classes and Sunday service in Manila, where we ministered last December.

God bless you and thank you so much for your prayers,

Chris and Vicky
